  • (4) 6 ounce Wild Mahi Mahi Portions
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 6 tbsp coconut oil
Prep time
20 minutes
Cook time
10 minutes

Instructions

  1. To thaw, place Mahi Mahi packages in the refrigerator the night before you plan to cook them
  2. To make your marinade start by taking Mahi Mahi out of packaging, and pat the portions dry with paper towels
  3. Place all seasonings in a mixing bowl. Add 2 tbsp coconut oil and mix well.
  4. Coat Mahi Mahi portions with the marinade mixture. Spread and pat the marinade onto the fish, the consistency of this marinade is going to be slightly pasty (more like a dry rub).
  5. After coating, rest fish in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  6. To cook, heat 4 tbsp of coconut oil in cast iron or nonstick pan over medium-high heat.
  7. Sear the portions until golden brown on one side (4-5 minutes). Do not move portions around in the pan as they sear. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately with rice or salad.
