Blackened Mahi Mahi
This Mahi Mahi with blackened seaasoning is tender, flaky and flavorful. Make this and serve over rice or a salad for a delicious, light dinner.
Ingredients
- (4) 6 ounce Wild Mahi Mahi Portions
- 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1/2 tbsp pepper powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 6 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions
- To thaw, place Mahi Mahi packages in the refrigerator the night before you plan to cook them
- To make your marinade start by taking Mahi Mahi out of packaging, and pat the portions dry with paper towels
- Place all seasonings in a mixing bowl. Add 2 tbsp coconut oil and mix well.
- Coat Mahi Mahi portions with the marinade mixture. Spread and pat the marinade onto the fish, the consistency of this marinade is going to be slightly pasty (more like a dry rub).
- After coating, rest fish in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- To cook, heat 4 tbsp of coconut oil in cast iron or nonstick pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear the portions until golden brown on one side (4-5 minutes). Do not move portions around in the pan as they sear. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
- Serve immediately with rice or salad.
