Ingredients
- 1 (6-8 ounce) pinbone-free Riverence® trout fillet
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil or grapeseed oil
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 bottle of generic Ginger Sesame marinade (optional)
- Prep time
- 2 minutes
- Cook time
- 10 minutes
Instructions
- Add oil to a pan (cast iron is best, but any will do) and bring to high heat.
- Remove a Riverence fresh frozen fillet from the package and place it skin side down in the hot pan. That’s right — no thawing necessary!
- Brush olive oil on the top (flesh side) of the frozen fillet, and gently sprinkle salt, pepper, and smoked paprika on top.
- Cover with a lid or splatter screen and allow fillet to cook for 5 minutes.
- Uncover, flip the fillet flesh side down, and cover once more.
- Allow the fillet to cook for another 5 minutes, and then flip back over to the skin side down.
- Your fillet is ready to eat when it has reached an internal temperature of
- 145°F or flakes easily with a fork! The trout should be slightly firm to the touch, but not overly well done.
- Tip: For an extra punch of flavor, drizzle and simmer Ginger Sesame marinade over the flesh side of the fillet at the end of the pan process.
