How to Cook a Bone-in Ribeye

Steps

  1. Remove the thawed steak from the packaging.
  2. Pat dry and lightly oil both sides.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat 2 Tbsp oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  5. Add roughly diced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  6. Cook the ribeye, undisturbed, for 3 minutes.
  7. Flip and cook an additional 3 minutes on the second side.
  8. Keep flipping, an additional minute on each side, until the internal temperature reaches 135°F.
  9. Remove from heat and let rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  10. Remove the meat from the bone, slice, and enjoy.
