My friend and I both order the same A5 Wagyu beef. While the piece that my friend got looks great, the piece that I got has wayyyy to much fat. I had to throw out almost 1/4 of the piece, which could worth like $70. I have photo of it if i could attach and share.

Absolutely delicious. Fast sear on each side to produce that Maillard reaction and a touch of salt. Saved some of the fat and roasted brussel sprouts. Buy the biggest chunk you can afford and slice it in 3/4" steaks. I got 7 out of my 5lb ribeye. In other words, 7 glorious nights to be had.

This was terrible. It was mostly fat that wouldn't render. It was an uncooked weight of about four pounds - it took over two hours to cook and still wasn't beyond very rare. Mostly notably, however, was the amount of edible meat. We ended up with less than enough to make a sandwich. Or course, we weren't trying to make a sandwich - we were trying to have Christmas Dinner. But we really didn't have any meat, and, because we were more than an hour behind, the timing of the other dishes was ruined. I've eaten/cooked/ordered plenty of Wagyu - this isn't user error; it's just getting suckered for $500 and then having cereal for dinner.

Not happy!!! I understand that A5 is just about half fat but I spent 400 dollars on what was basically 75 percent fat that was a horrible experience and I wasted a lot of money with you guys.. I’ve had wagyu many time and this was a complete rip off.. it looked nothing like the one on the picture I had to trim it down and it trimmed to nothing almost
