Thaw Chicken in 15 Minutes

No time for a fridge thaw? Run cold water over sealed chicken in a bowl for about 15 minutes, then cook right away.

When overnight thawing in the refrigerator isn't feasible, your sink can speed things along.

Set up the bowl

Place your sealed packages of chicken in a bowl in the sink.

Run cold water for 15 minutes

Run cool water from the faucet over the chicken for 15 minutes. The water must be cold to prevent bacterial growth.

Check and cook

Feel the chicken to confirm it's fully thawed. If areas are still frozen, keep the cold water running until thawed. Remove from the package and cook right away.
