Air fryer chicken is golden brown, juicy, and flavorful. The meat stays tender but gets nice and crispy — a healthier take on fried chicken you'll have to try.
Marinate
Place chicken in buttermilk (and optional hot sauce) and cover. Marinate for an hour, or up to 24 hours.
Coat
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, corn starch, and seasonings. Take chicken out of the buttermilk and dip in the coating, patting the mixture in with your hand. Set aside.
Air fry
Place chicken into the air fryer (don't crowd it) and lightly spray the top with oil. Set the air fryer to 375°F.
Fry for 10 minutes. Flip, lightly spray the chicken again, and cook for 10 more minutes.
Check the internal temperature and continue cooking until the chicken reaches 160°F.
Serve
Remove and serve.
