How do you cook hamburgers on the grill?
  1. Always grill burgers over high heat.
  2. Avoid using your spatula to press down on your burgers while cooking.
  3. Flip your burgers once, at the midway point. Each side should be cooked an equal amount of time. Depending on size of patty, about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium.
  4. If patties are frozen when placed on grill, increase cooking time by about 50%.
How do you grill a medium well burger?

Depending on thickness of burger and grill temperature, medium-well hamburgers can be achieved in about 5-6 minutes per side. The internal temperature you're trying to reach is between 150 and 155ºF. The center will have very little pink.

Should I grill burgers covered or uncovered?

Fast-cooking foods like burgers, shrimp or sliced vegetables are typically cooked over direct flames, so you can leave the grill open. Thick steaks bone-in chicken, and roasts get the lid down, in-direct flame treatment typically.
