For a perfectly cooked New York Strip Steak, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 2 minutes per side, then transfer to a preheated 350°F oven for 7 to 10 minutes. To elevate your steak, make a compound butter by mixing softened butter, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Shape into a log and refrigerate until firm. Just before serving, slice 1-2 tablespoons and let it melt over the hot steak for a rich, flavorful finish.
