Wild Blue Mexican Shrimp is a delicious and healthy seafood option that is quick and easy to cook. Simply heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat, add the shrimp, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. A little salt and pepper is all you need to season them. To elevate this dish, try cooking the shrimp in a garlic butter sauce. Melt 1-2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat, add the garlic, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the pan before cooking the shrimp. This will give them a nice spicy kick. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper, and serve with the garlic butter sauce.
Flavor Profile
These shrimp are a delicacy and known for their delicate flavor, slightly firm texture and blueish tiny before cooking. They are a great choice for a seafood dish that you want to really shine. Also, in contrast to nearly all other wild-caught shrimp, these Wild Blue Mexican Shrimp are hand-caught in tiny Panga boats to eliminate almost all bycatch.
Chef's Serving Suggestions
The best side dishes, herbs and sauces to pair with Wild Blue Mexican Shrimp are those that are light and bright in flavor. Think citrusy or acidic flavors like lemon, lime, grapefruit or orange. Alternatively, you could go with a herby sauce like pesto or chimichurri.

Tucked inside the bays off the western coast of Mexico, a fleet of colorful sails dots the blue horizon where the sea meets the sky. To a tourist, these sailboats might look like a vacationer’s paradise — but they’re actually artisanal panga boats, the best and most sustainable way to catch the Mexican Blue Shrimp swimming beneath them.
