How to Make Bacon

Stove-top bacon, done right — sizzle, flip, repeat. The key is not burning it.

A Crowd Cow Field Guide

Bacon is just about as simple as stove-top cooking gets. The key is not burning it — unless you're into that, of course.

Heat a large pan over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil or butter, and let it melt.

Add the strips of bacon (they should sizzle on contact) and cook 90 seconds to 3 minutes per side, to your desired crispness.
