VIDEO: Crowd Cow Brought Olive-fed Wagyu to the USA

Published

Olive Wagyu is the world's rarest beef. Produced by a handful of farms in Japan's remote Kagawa Prefecture, less than 2000 animals total are raised in this unique way -- in cooperation with local olive producers on a feed that include pressed olive peels from the region's famed olive groves.

We met with Olive Wagyu's inventor, Masakii Ishii, and worked directly with Kagawa's governor Keizo Hamada to bring Olive-fed Wagyu to the USA for sale online for the first time ever last year.

Shortly after, Olive Wagyu from Kagawa won the top honor for "best fat quality" at Japan's Wagyu Olympics, a nationwide competition taking place once every five years in Japan.
